My first memory of myself cooking anything was when I was about six or seven years old. I wanted to cook something for my grandfather, and after a slight moment of hesitation, he agreed to let me cook my finest scrambled egg. He watched on with what can only be described as a look of shock and awe as I cracked the eggs into the bowl and began to whisk with all the vigor I could muster. I cooked those eggs as expertly as I knew how at the time…until overcooked and rubbery. To this day I still remember his reaction tho those eggs. He smiled and said, “crunchy” as he ate every bite. Some of the fondest memories from my youth are of the kitchen in my grandparents house. Watching delicious home made meals being created from simple ingredients, the aromas filling the house as the food bubbled away on the stovetop. It was magic.

As I’ve grown, so too has my relationship with food. My tastes have changed and evolved, techniques have refined (I only occasionally get shells in the eggs now) and creativity elevated.
